What we're proposing

Blackthorn is the third-party application that currently runs event management and online payments inside your Salesforce. We're proposing to retire it and remove it from your org. Because the app is deeply embedded in your day-to-day processes, we'll do this in careful stages — protecting your data first, testing the entire removal in a copy of your system, and only removing the live app once we've proven it's safe.

The most important thing: your accreditation data lives inside this app

Important — read before proceeding

Coordinare tracks CPD and accreditation evidence — RACGP, ACCRM, AAPM and APNA training hours — against event attendees. Today, that data is stored inside Blackthorn. Removing an app like this permanently deletes the data it holds. So before anything is removed, we will move your accreditation records into standard Salesforce, where they stay live and reportable — and we'll export a full copy of everything else for your records. Nothing is lost.

What we'll protect before removing anything

Before a single component is removed, we extract and safeguard all of it:

Accreditation & CPD evidence

Your RACGP / ACCRM / AAPM / APNA training-hours data, migrated into standard Salesforce so it stays live and reportable.

Event & registration history

Every event, attendee and registration record, exported and retained.

Payment & transaction history

All payment records exported and archived for finance and audit.

Everything else

A complete archive of all remaining Blackthorn data, kept for reference.

Approximately 40,000 records preserved in total. Final event-data volumes to be confirmed against the production system.

How we'll remove it safely

  1. Protect your data

    Full export of everything, and migrate your accreditation data into standard Salesforce.

  2. Rebuild dependent automations

    Recreate the workflows that currently rely on the app, on standard Salesforce.

  3. Disconnect payments

    Safely wind down the online payment (Stripe) connection.

  4. Test in a sandbox first

    Run the entire removal in a copy of your org, and resolve anything it surfaces — before touching live data.

  5. Remove the app in production

    Uninstall the app from your live org, in the correct sequence.

  6. Verify

    Confirm your data is intact and everything continues to work.

Every step before removal is reversible. We never touch your live system until the sandbox test is clean.
